The Charity Commission has updated its guidance which includes information about fraud, how you can protect your charity against it and how to spot it when it occurs.
Charity Commission: Press release to review your safeguarding and governance arrangements
On 19 December 2017, the Charity Commission issued a regulatory alert reminding charities to review their safeguarding and governance arrangements. It also published its revised strategy for dealing with safeguarding issues in charities on 6 December 2017.

The Charity Commission has updated its guidance on preparing your charity’s annual return. The guidance includes details of what you need to submit, when you need to submit an annual return and what the return should include.

Conversion of charitable companies to CIOs
On 7 December 2017, the Charities Act 2011 (Commencement No.3) Order 2017 (SI 2017/1230) was implemented, which means that from 1 January 2018 there will be mechanisms in place for an existing charitable company, charitable community benefit society or community interest company to convert into a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO).

This course is designed to assist charity trustees and senior managers of charitable organisations in complying with best practice. It will include an interactive session on governing documents, an introduction to charity regulation and a discussion of trustee responsibilities in the employment of staff.
