Whilst most of the time this is true, it’s not a rule that applies in every situation – good leadership need to align behaviour and context. Leaders need the ability to adapt how they behave to generate the best outcome for them, their team and the wider organisation.

In this session Roderic outlined the foundations of leadership, and the skills to master, before addressing the ‘spectrums of leadership’ helping you adapt your behaviour to match the context you’re facing.

Roderic Yapp is a speaker, facilitator and accredited coach and a specialist in developing resilience and leadership skills. A former Royal Marines Officer, who led Royal Marines on operations around the world, Roderic uses his experience to develop people and change organisational culture. He is a Director at Harlequins Business Academy, taking the principles of high performance from the elite sporting environment and applying them to the commercial world. He is also the Founder of Leadership Forces. He has supported managers to create high performing teams across a multitude of sectors including Professional Services, Asset Management, Banking and Retail. His 2016 TEDx talk drew on leadership techniques from his experiences on military operations.
