Diversity and inclusion in the workplace
Companies have long paid lip service to diversity and inclusion, but in the aftermath of COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter, there is a huge desire not to return to the old normal. Employers across all industries must embrace the creation of a more inclusive environment and longer term workplace change.
Truly enlightened businesses will make changes ahead of their shareholders, customers and staff demanding it, by changing the patterns, processes and behaviours of recruitment, staff interaction and career progression. They will transform their business to ensure it draws a wide range of talent and embraces people from different social backgrounds, varied experiences and different perspectives.
Our Investing In Success webinar focused on diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Blake Morgan Chairman and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Board Chair, Bruce Potter, had a conversation with Melanie Eusebe, a business strategist with a passion for equality and an advocate for a diverse workforce, which she champions through her roles as a founder and chair of the Black British Business Awards and a 2020 judge of the Women’s Prize for Fiction.
Bruce and Melanie unpicked the challenges employers and business owners face navigating this sensitive area, and looked at best practice approaches as well as tools and techniques to implement in your businesses.
