Owen is a Legal Director in our national Construction Group and has over 20 years’ experience of working in the sector.
Main areas of practice
Owen undertakes both (non-contentious) project work and contentious work. Owen advises on procurement strategies, contract drafting and negotiation for stand-alone and complex property/ development agreements and all related construction legal documentation, as well as advising on disputes should they arise.
Owen’s work comprises projects procured across a variety of sectors including commercial, infrastructure, retail & leisure, education, healthcare and residential for a large range of clients.

Owen’s expertise covers the entire procurement chain, from inception to completion, and he works with a wide range of clients including local authorities, private developers, landlords, tenants, funders, registered providers, contractors, consultants, and sub-contractors.

Owen’s original degree was in Electronic Engineering before changing over to become a solicitor. Owen also has an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Kings College London.
Owen joined the firm in 2024 from city firm Lewis Silkin which he had joined as a trainee in 2002.

Significant Experience
- Regularly advises on and negotiates all of the major standard forms of building contract (including JCT, NEC, TAC-1 and FIDIC) and professional appointments (ACE, RIBA, RICS and CIC), as well as numerous bespoke, non-standard forms.
- Manages and resolves disputes on a range of contractual issues including matters arising out of defects, payment, termination and professional negligence. Owen has also been instructed on bringing and defending numerous adjudications.
