Thanos is a dual-qualified (E&W and Greece) lawyer specialising in commercial law, technology and IP. He advises businesses on a wide array of commercial matters, including software licensing, SaaS and DaaS, outsourcing and managed services, professional services, Go-To-Market models and partnerships, the sale of services through marketplaces, the sale of services via distributors and resellers as well as information security and data privacy.
With extensive in-house experience in the tech sector, including at a public F1000 company, Thanos adeptly drafts and negotiates complex agreements, providing tailored, commercially focused solutions and grasping the commercial implications of legal issues.

Career
Thanos graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Law, and began his legal career in Athens at a law firm recognised by Legal500, serving as a trainee in dispute resolution, commercial, corporate, and IP law teams.
After completing his LLM in Commercial and Intellectual Property Law from the London School of Economics, he worked as a legal consultant on commercial and corporate matters and dispute resolution before moving in-house. He later joined a F1000 US firm as Legal Counsel, supporting the EMEA and North America regions, focusing on IT contracts, data protection, and IP law for a diverse SaaS portfolio. Thanos is fluent in Greek and French.

- Drafted and negotiated commercial agreements including Master Service Agreements, SaaS Agreements, Software License Agreements, Statements of Work, MoUs, Reseller and Distributor Addendums and Partnership Agreements with Fortune 500 and 100 companies, along with professional services terms.
- Led settlement negotiations with a Fortune 500 retailer regarding alleged SLA breaches and delayed implementation in franchisees' EU locations, and drafted the full and final settlement and release agreement.
- Supported senior leadership team of SaaS provider in the international acquisition of a SaaS entity by conducting Due Diligence (commercial and IP).
- Provided counsel to SaaS provider regarding the sale of SaaS offerings to customers through Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure marketplaces. Advising on the Terms of Use of the Marketplace, terms of partnership, 'passthrough' SaaS terms, and the overall go-to-market model.
