Blake Morgan celebrates success in the latest Legal 500 directory
Blake Morgan has won a stream of accolades in the 2021 edition of The Legal 500, reflecting the specialist expertise and industry standing of their teams and individual lawyers.
Each year, The Legal 500 reviews and benchmarks the strength of law firms and their lawyers based on extensive research and feedback from in-house clients. For 2021, Blake Morgan secured 58 rankings, with 27 practice areas being ranked ‘Tier 1′ in recognition of delivering best-in-class service.
Practice areas that achieved Tier 1 ranks included Construction, Commercial Property, Banking and Finance, Employment, Professional Discipline, Public Sector, Social Housing, Pensions, Family Law and Intellectual Property. In particular the firm’s work across the public sector was singled out as combining ‘first-class legal knowledge with a pragmatism that ensures that we can make the best use of the advice they provide.’ Similarly, the construction practice was described as ‘friendly, efficient and professional’ with the ‘ability to give practical advice to problem solve quickly and decisively’.
Overall, 71 of the firm’s lawyers received recognition individually this year. Seven were awarded ‘Hall of Fame’ status, including Kath Shimmin, Eve Piffaretti and Rob Cherry. A further 31 lawyers achieved ‘Leading Individual’ status, .
Among those listed was Penny Rinta-Suksi who was described by one client as having ‘exactly what I would look for in a commercial lawyer: understanding of the overall commercial objectives comes first and the provision of advice is in line with that’. Paula Shea in the private client practice was also listed, and she and her team were praised for being ‘exemplary listeners… able to give the very best advice, calling on other professionals to advise and provide the best information’. The Technology, Media and Telecoms team’s ‘exceptional’ Lee Fisher was also highlighted for his ‘detailed and clear advice’ across a range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
Added to this, 15 lawyers secured ‘Next Generation Partners’ ranking, and 25 were identified as ‘Rising Stars’.
