Blake Morgan continues to strengthen Regulatory practice by appointing former NMC Deputy Director
Blake Morgan’s Regulatory Group continues to go from strength to strength with the announcement that former Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Deputy Director, Professional Regulation, Clare Strickland has re-joined the team. Clare brings her substantial experience and expertise to the firm at a time of significant expansion for the Regulatory Group, following their recent high-profile appointment to support the Health and Care Professions Council.
This will be Clare’s second spell at Blake Morgan, having previously been a Partner between 2015 and 2017 in the middle of two separate periods at the NMC. In her last four years at the NMC, Clare led the policy and change teams responsible for the development of the NMC’s fitness to practise strategy, ‘Ensuring public safety, enabling professionalism’, while also leading on the formation of the NMC’s Public Support Service. Clare also led the screening, investigation, case preparation and presentation, and adjudication functions.
Upon re-joining the firm, Clare Strickland said:
I’m thrilled to be returning to Blake Morgan as a Partner within the Regulatory Group. Given its ongoing expansion and recent client win, this is an incredibly exciting time to be re-joining the firm and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and expertise to the group.
Blake Morgan’s Head of Professional Regulation, Bradley Albuery commented: “We are delighted to have Clare on board, as she brings with her an extensive knowledge of the regulatory landscape and the challenges and opportunities that face regulators. Her skills will complement and strengthen our regulatory offering and will help us to provide our clients with focused and strategic advice as they respond to anticipated changes in the way professional regulation is undertaken.”
Nick Leale, Head of Blake Morgan’s Regulatory Group added: “We have worked with Clare both during her time at the NMC and when she was a Partner here, so we know she will bring plenty of energy, expertise and fresh thinking to the role. We are all looking forward to working with her again.”
