Blake Morgan hit £10k target for guide dog charity fundraising in Cardiff office
Blake Morgan’s team in Cardiff has hit its fundraising target of £10,000 for its charity partner Guide Dogs Cymru.
The team chose Guide Dogs Cymru as their charity partner from 2019 to 2021 and hit the target after a busy few years of fundraising.
Staff planned a calendar of events across the two-year partnership to raise funds for Guide Dogs and to name a puppy.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Committee worked closely together – despite the challenges of the pandemic – to inspire the team to get involved in a range of fun activities. This work resulted in a series of events, including a quiz, a five-a-side football competition, a dress-up day, a series of sponsored walks, a virtual running challenge and a Six Nations Sweepstake.
One of the Partners at Blake Morgan took on a tandem triathlon and ran a ‘virtual’ and the actual London Marathon to help them meet their fundraising goals. Staff also took part in some of Guide Dogs own fundraising campaigns, such as the Great Guide Dogs Tea Party and annual birthday celebrations.
Katie Greenaway, Trainee Solicitor with Blake Morgan LLP, said:
It's been a pleasure working with Guide Dogs as our charity of the year and to support such a fantastic cause. We know what a difference guide dogs make to the lives of blind and partially sighted people, and it's been our privilege to help support the charity in its vital work.
Katie added: “Our staff have enjoyed getting involved in the various fundraising challenges, and we’ve been blown away by people’s enthusiasm! We’ve started shortlisting the guide dog puppy names and will shortly be putting names to a staff vote. We can’t wait to find out what the guide dog puppy will be called – watch this space!”
