Blake Morgan insolvency lawyer wins industry award for outstanding client service

Blake Morgan partner, Katie James, has been awarded a prestigious Client Choice Award by Lexology.

Held at the Institute of Civil Engineers in Westminster, the Client Choice awards celebrate, recognise and reward law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service. Katie, who heads up the firm’s Business Support and Insolvency team in the Thames Valley, was nominated by client Lynn Gibson of Gibson Hewitt.

The awards, which are unique in the industry, select winners purely on client feedback from in-house counsel, measuring them on client satisfaction, quality of legal advice, commercial awareness, industry knowledge and strategic thinking.

270 winners were chosen from a pool of more than 2000 individual client recommendations from 37 countries across the globe. Katie was one of six winners from the UK.

For the past 11 years, Katie has worked in all areas of insolvency, including formal processes such as administration, liquidation, receivership and bankruptcy as well as in less formal distressed situations. Katie has particular expertise in dealing with distressed care homes as well as hotels and complex group structures. She is praised by her clients for “dealing with complex matters” and recognised by the Chambers Legal Directory for her “strong breadth of knowledge.”

Speaking at the awards, Katie commented: “To be awarded a Client Choice award is a real honour.  What makes this award particularly special is the fact it is based purely on client feedback.  I would like to thank Lynn for her nomination and would also like to recognise the efforts of the whole of the business support and insolvency team at Blake Morgan who are committed to delivering the best possible results for our clients.”
