Blake Morgan inspires local young entrepreneurs

Students at Alton College that are taking part in the Unloc Enterprise Academy have had the opportunity to work with leading lawyers from Blake Morgan LLP.

As part of their twelve-week programme, they focus on an array of business and entrepreneurial concepts ranging from branding and marketing to legal concepts and structures.

As part of a Keeping it Legal session, Blake Morgan Solicitors paid a visit to help cover all legal aspects of starting a new business. Banking and Finance Partner Kath Shimmin worked with the students covering subjects like legal structures, employment law and contracts. Students had a fantastic time exploring concepts like what constitutes discrimination in the workplace, how can discrimination be prevented and different kinds of contracts.

Manager Director of Unloc, Hayden Taylor, commented: “It was exciting to have Blake Morgan with us at Alton College. The students were really engaged and thoroughly enjoyed working Kath and the team. Partnerships are crucial to the success of the Unloc Enterprise Academy, and Blake Morgan has really got behind these incredible young people”.

Kath Shimmin commented: “Blake Morgan has its roots in the Solent community and recognises the importance of developing the skills and aspirations of the Entrepreneurs of the future. We are delighted to be working with the Enterprise Academy to deliver this exciting programme for local students.”
