Blake Morgan lawyers rise up Chambers High Net Worth rankings
A record number of lawyers in the Private Wealth teams at Blake Morgan are celebrating the publication of the 2024 rankings from the Chambers High Net Worth Guide. The prestigious guide recognises and recommends the best performing lawyers and firms advising on private wealth across the UK. Six individual Blake Morgan lawyers are singled out this year, up from five in 2023, with several rising through the ranking bands.
For the second year running, four of Blake Morgan’s expert Private Wealth teams were ranked as the highly-regarded Band 2 in the guide. These were the Private Wealth Law teams from Wales, Oxford and Southampton, as well as the Private Wealth Disputes team in the Thames Valley. Clients praised the “excellent knowledge” and responsiveness of the teams, and their ability to distil and simply explain complex legal and financial points.
The Chambers ranking specifies leading individual lawyers offering legal advice around private wealth, and this year it recognised six Blake Morgan experts. Within these, Partner Lisa Davies secured a place in the prestigious Band 1, up from Band 2 in 2023, and Senior Associate Jonathan Sleep saw his ranking rise to ‘Star Associate’. In the guide, Lisa is described by clients as “exceptional”, and “quick, efficient and knowledgeable in dealing with estates”, while Jonathan received praise for his “truly excellent” level of service and attention to detail, resulting in “complete confidence and trust.”
Partners James Greig and Paula Shea were also highly ranked, and Senior Associate Nicky Sherrard was named an ‘Associate to watch’ for a second year running. James is highlighted as a “true expert in his field”, with Paula being praised for achieving “all the client’s objectives”, while Nicky is credited for her “very effective support”.
Thomas Middlehurst enters the guide with Blake Morgan for the first time this year, achieving a Band 2 ranking for his work in the area of private wealth disputes, as the firm strengthens the relationship between its advisory and dispute offerings. Client testimonials talk of his “admirable ability to anticipate the possible scenarios” and the faith they have in his “knowledgeable”, “professional” and “empathetic” advice.
Helen Bunker, Chair and Head of Private Client at Blake Morgan, said:
Another superb result this year for our hard-working and talented Private Wealth Law teams. This guide sees an even larger crop of Blake Morgan lawyers recognised for their excellent advice and service to clients both at a Partner and Senior Associate level. Particular praise is deserved by those who have risen even higher up these prestigious rankings, and to those entering the guide for the first time. The growing momentum year-on-year shows our colleagues’ constant drive for higher quality and impact across their work.
