Blake Morgan and PwC Commercial Awareness Competition at Brunel University London
Our annual Blake Morgan / PwC commercial awareness competition at Brunel University London took place this year on Wednesday 13 July. Trainee solicitors Jake Van Kampen, Alexander King, Emma Shakeshaft, Matthew Ivey and legal support colleague (and Brunel alumni) Fernanda de Faria, from the London office attended Brunel to judge a student commercial awareness competition.
The competition was judged collaboratively with associates from PwC and required the students to pitch as Blake Morgan and PwC to a potential client, Fisker about the ways in which both firms could facilitate and enhance future corporate growth for the client.
Following weeks of preparation researching into the firms and Fisker, the two groups presented their ideas in front of the panel, each providing different approaches and dynamics in their pitch. Both teams grasped Blake Morgan’s values and culture well and drew parallels to the potential client,
There was also a networking lunch, which provided a great opportunity for Blake Morgan staff to interact and connect with the students at Brunel.
The judges were really impressed with the quality of both group’s presentation and the research carried out and provided constructive feedback to the groups. One member of the winning team will be awarded work experience at Blake Morgan in their London office. Thank you to the university staff, in particular Anjali Kemwal and Tia Miranda, for organising this event. We look forward to more collaborations in the future.
