Law firm Blake Morgan has been named as one of the employers that graduates would most like to work for in a comprehensive survey of students.

The firm, which has offices in Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading, Oxford, Cardiff and London is named in The Guardian UK 300, which is compiled from research conducted by international research firm Trendence and lists the 300 most popular employers for UK graduates.

Blake Morgan is one of only four UK-only law firms to make the list, and saw its placing rise significantly to 183rd from 286th in the previous year.

Students who took part in the survey were asked which career sectors interested them most, and were then invited to choose which graduate employers within those sectors they would most want to work for.

Blake Morgan runs a number of initiatives to attract the best young talent including a graduate programme designed to give trainees opportunities to succeed in a nurturing training environment.

Liz Bryne, head of learning and development and Blake Morgan, said: “Blake Morgan’s position in this well-respected list highlights the firm’s dedication to bringing out the best in graduates who choose to begin a legal career with us.

“We are committed to building on our position as a leading graduate employer and this year’s results show that we are achieving that goal, cementing Blake Morgan’s position as one of the most popular graduate employers.”

The Blake Morgan graduate programme is carefully structured and designed to provide variety, responsibility and intellectual challenge.

Graduates on the scheme have a series of placements lasting three or six months in a range of departments, as well as the possibility to go on a secondment with one of the firm’s clients. Working with a partner or associate the aim is to give them experience of a wide range of clients and work in both the private and commercial areas.
