Blake Morgan re-accredited as a STEP Platinum Employer Partner
Leading law firm Blake Morgan has been re-accredited as a Platinum Employer Partner in England and Wales by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Employer Partnership Programme.
STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning and works to promote high professional standards among its members.
STEP’s review of Blake Morgan evaluated three key criteria: developments in support for staff, career progression, and reflection upon learning within the organisation. All of these demonstrated initiatives in place that went above and beyond the Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements.
The Blake Morgan Academy received special praise during the re-accreditation. This online training platform, available to all colleagues within Blake Morgan, offers a broad range of pathways and options for meeting personal and professional development needs. STEP highlighted the role the Academy plays as a central port of call for the firm’s education, learning and development activities.
The review also found there to be a ‘phenomenal focus’ on the development in support for colleagues over the past three years, particularly with the implementation of a dynamic careers platform, SMART and flexible working, wellbeing programmes and the provision of technical and business skills training.
Further training developments were seen through proposed plans to introduce a new HR system, which will include a built-in training library and ensure readily available access for all Partners and employees. Once operational, the firm intends to integrate this within wider systems to encourage a continuous cycle of learning, feedback and reflection. This will provide employees with a clear indication on what development is needed to progress within their career.
HR & Development Director at Blake Morgan, Liz Bryne said:
We are thrilled to be re-accredited as a Platinum Employer Partner, and to have our continued commitment to our colleagues and their development formally recognised by STEP. Despite the challenges faced over the past 18 months, we worked hard to ensure our colleagues received the best support possible and to provide access to learning opportunities and resources throughout the difficult times. We’re really looking forward to 2022 when we plan to extend the range of support and resources available even further.
