Blake Morgan has expanded its commercial and charities and commercial litigation teams through the appointment of two new partners, Anthony Woolich, and Hannah Clipston.

Anthony Woolich is described in the prestigious Legal 500 Guide 2024 as “a highly experienced and completely reliable competition lawyer” and as “always approachable and responsive, providing pragmatic advice that is easy to comprehend”. Anthony is a specialist in competition law and has significant expertise advising clients with international aspects to cases, including on trade regulation and sanctions, anti-bribery and anti-corruption law, state aid and national subsidies.

His experience in competition law includes advising on cases which have been brought before the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and the High Court of Justice, as well as the European Commission and national competition authorities in many other countries, including China, Brazil, South Korea, Germany and Denmark.

Anthony is also an expert on matters related to intellectual property, data protection and privacy, public procurement, and commercial contracts. In public law and procurement, his experience includes advising government executive agencies and many local authorities and housing associations.

Anthony was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2025 edition of “The Best Lawyers in the UK” for competition law.

Hannah Clipston brings to Blake Morgan two decades of experience in commercial litigation, during which time she has built a strong foundation in commerciality, negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Hannah has an in-depth understanding of the corporate legal needs of the UK market, across a variety of sectors including retail, manufacturing, sport, and professional services. Her practice covers litigation, arbitration, and mediation. She works with SMEs, mid-market corporates, and high net worth individuals to support them with commercial disputes.

Hannah leverages her experience as a board member and head of a commercial dispute resolution team to provide relevant, realistic advice and insight to business decision makers, general counsels and her wider professional network, and her keen interest and understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals is valued by her clients.

Commenting on his new role, Anthony Woolich said:

I am delighted to be joining a team at Blake Morgan which is renowned for its strengths across all areas of competition and commercial law, including healthcare, data protection, public procurement, and subsidy control.
