Blake Morgan wins stream of accolades in latest Legal 500 directory
Blake Morgan is celebrating after securing an impressive 62 rankings in the 2022 edition of the Legal 500, reflecting the firm’s first-rate service and specialist expertise among its teams and individual lawyers.
Each year, the Legal 500 reviews and benchmarks the strength of law firms and their lawyers based on extensive research and feedback from clients. Among its 62 rankings, 29 of Blake Morgan’s practice areas were ranked ‘Tier 1’, in recognition of their outstanding service and delivery.
The practice areas that achieved Tier 1 rankings included Professional Discipline, Corporate and Commercial, Debt Recovery, Commercial Litigation, Banking and Finance, Employment, Family, Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, Public Sector, Construction, Environment and Planning, Intellectual Property, IT and Telecomms, Pensions, Social Housing, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery, Property Litigation, and Commercial Property.
Overall, 80 of the firm’s lawyers were recognised individually this year. Chair Kath Shimmin, Guy Constant, David Miles and Daniel Scognamiglio were awarded ‘Hall of Fame’ status. Kath was described as providing ‘magic circle-level advice and knowledge’ and as ‘approachable and commercial.’ According to one client, Daniel is ‘the real deal – he is calm and unflappable, and knows the area like the back of his hand.’
In addition, 35 lawyers achieved ‘Leading Individual’ status. Among those listed was Susie Dryden, who was described by one client as a ‘class act; clever and very knowledgeable.’ Graham Miles in the Public Sector practice was also listed and praised for being ‘a cornerstone of the team and…takes time to understand the issue from every perspective, including the human angle, so that he can tailor his advice and deliver it sensitively and with consideration.’ Sadak Miah, leader of the Debt Recoveries team, was also listed as a Leading Individual and praised by a wide variety of clients for the quality and effectiveness of the relationships he builds with them.
There were 15 lawyers who were ranked as ‘Next Generation Partners’, in addition to 26 ‘Rising Stars’.
