Law firm donates to 10 charities as it celebrates 10 year anniversary
Local law firm Blake Morgan has made donations to 10 charities as part of its celebrations of 10 years in business. This July marks a decade since the firm was formed from a merger between Blake Lapthorn and Morgan Cole in 2014.
Across its offices – London, Southampton, Oxford, Reading and Cardiff – teams have gathered to celebrate the anniversary and host charity ‘bake-off’ competitions, with the winner of each being given the opportunity to identify a charity for the firm to support.
In Southampton, Blake Morgan has made a £250 donation to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), chosen by office bake-off winner Yanna Antoniou, IT Applications Support Team Leader, while a further £250 has been donated to the office’s chosen charity this year – Ben Pavitt’s Legacy of Love Fund, which supports Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group.
In Cardiff, Blake Morgan has made a £250 donation to the Diabetes UK, chosen by office bake-off winner Georgia Edwards, Trainee Paralegal in the Property Litigation team, while a further £250 has been donated to the office’s appointed charity this year – The Wales Air Ambulance.
In London, Blake Morgan has made a £250 donation to the Norwood & Brixton Foodbank, chosen by office bake-off winner Martha Price, Legal Assistant in the Succession and Tax team, while a further £250 has been donated to the office’s chosen charity this year – The British Heart Foundation.
In Oxford, Blake Morgan has made a £250 donation to the Cowley Child Contact Centre, chosen by office bake-off winner Rachel Knight, Associate in the Family team, while a further £250 has been donated to the office’s chosen charity this year – Dementia UK.
In Reading, Blake Morgan has made a £250 donation to Launchpad, which offers support to homeless people in the local area and is the office’s chosen annual charity. A further £250 has been donated to the British Red Cross, chosen specifically by office bake-off joint winners Beth Ellis, a trainee solicitor, and solicitor Natasha Newlin.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, employees were also gifted an eco-friendly stainless steel water bottle made from recycled materials. Through the purchase of the water bottles, more than 650 trees will be planted by Eden Reforestation Projects – a non-profit that works with underprivileged local communities around the world to regrow forests and rebuild healthy ecosystems.
Blake Morgan is among the top performing law firms in the UK and has seen much success in the 10 years since its formation. The full-service law firm supports clients across the public and private sector – including SMEs, multinational corporates such as HSBC, and public sector clients, including NHS England – as well as advising high net worth individuals and business owners. It has a team of over 600, with more than 83 lawyers individually recognised in the prestigious Legal 500 Directory in 2024. This year it was also once again ranked in the Top 50 UK Employers List.
Helen Bunker, Chair at Blake Morgan, said:
