A Tribute

We are immensely saddened to have to share the news of the sudden and unexpected death of Lawrence.

Lawrence joined Tarlo Lyons in 1988 and rose to become Head of the Corporate Dept. and a core member of its management team before merger with Blake Morgan. At Blake Morgan, Lawrence became head of the London office, sat on the management board as a Regional Senior Partner and was a key driver of the London office move to New Street Square in 2016. He took delight in getting to know new joiners and was tireless in supporting our more junior colleagues as they began their careers.

He was famed for running the firm’s annual quiz competition, setting all questions, demonstrating his many and varied passions (not least, music, anything to do with racing – cars, motorcycles, bicycles – travel and all sports), resolving the occasional dispute, and all with effortless charm, energy and charisma. But above all, Lawrence was a great friend to many, generous and big hearted. He brought commercial flair, wisdom and fun to all his relationships, both with colleagues and clients, and was a much respected and admired partner at the firm.  He was devoted to his family and we send our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to his wife, Louisa and his three children, Ash, Greg and Georgie.

A ‘Celebration of Lawrence’s Life’ service was held on Thursday 24th November 2022 and his family have invited donations to one of Lawrence’s favourite charities: The RNLI and/or Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
