Legal 500 success for Blake Morgan teams in Thames Valley region

Posted on 5th October 2020
Blake Morgan’s teams and leading individuals in Thames Valley have been recognised for the strength and depth of their expertise in the 2021 edition of the prestigious Legal 500 UK guide.

Each year, The Legal 500 reviews and benchmarks the strength of law firms and their lawyers based on extensive research and feedback from clients. For 2021, Blake Morgan secured 58 rankings, with 27 practice areas being ranked ‘Tier 1′ in recognition of delivering best-in-class service. 71 of the firm’s lawyers also received individual recognition.

In this year’s Legal 500, Blake Morgan secured six rankings for its Thames Valley office, with four practice areas being ranked ‘Tier 1′ in recognition of delivering best-in-class service. The practice areas that achieved Tier 1 ranks were Commercial Litigation, Commercial Property, Corporate and Commercial, and Employment.

The Thames Valley region’s work in Employment was singled out, with the team described as ‘pragmatic and commercially sensitive’, enabling them to deliver high-quality service to ‘long-standing, high profile clients’.

Similarly, the ‘highly experienced’ Commercial Litigation team was praised for its ‘great strength in giving commercial advice to clients on their options and a practical hands-on approach to resolving their disputes’.

Overall, 14 of the firm’s lawyers from the Thames Valley region received recognition individually this year.  Four were awarded ‘Leading Individual’ status, including Andrew Farmery, Alison Patten-Hall, Chris Potts and James Greig.  A further six lawyers were denoted as ‘Next Generation Partners’, and four were awarded the title of ‘Rising Star’, including George Panteli and Sophie Boswell from the commercial property team.

Rajiv Joshi, highlighted as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ in the Employment team, was described by a client as being ‘understanding of our business and what we want to achieve’ while also ‘upskilling our team for dealing directly with the challenges we face’.

Bruce Potter, Chairman at Blake Morgan, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many of our lawyers and practice areas achieve the recognition they deserve in this year’s The Legal 500.  It’s been a challenging and unexpected year for businesses across the board, but our commitment to our clients has never faltered and I commend our partners and people for continuing to deliver exceptional service and legal solutions.

“The success in these rankings really goes to show the talent and drive that exists within the firm, and I’m proud of the value we bring to our clients.”
