New build house move completed during lockdown

Buying and selling properties is still possible during the COVID-19 pandemic as proved by the excellent work by Blake Morgan property solicitor Manjot Jassal.

Manjot acted on behalf of a National House Builder to complete a deal involving the purchase of a new build house with a part exchange property within two weeks.

The value of the deal was over £500,000 and the matter was exchanged and completed in a fortnight despite working against the background of the new normal during the COVID-19 restrictions.

As well as dealing with the usual complexities of a plot sale with a part exchange, due to the current circumstance the plot buyer’s needed more time to move the items out of their part exchange property and into their new build property.

The team agreed to draft a licence to occupy in respect of the part exchange property to give the plot buyers extra time, which enabled the sale to be completed.

Manjot said: “The client was very appreciative that we turned this around and completed in such a tight timescale in what are very challenging market conditions for house builders and this increased Blake Morgan’s credibility as an exceptional legal service provider.”
