Respected legal directory hails Blake Morgan’s leading teams and specialists in Wales

Blake Morgan’s teams and leading individuals in Wales have been recognised for the strength and depth of their expertise in Chambers and Partners – the authoritative guide to the legal profession in the UK.

Chambers UK has listed 13 of the firm’s Cardiff-based teams in its 2018 edition, with 10 of those achieving the highest band 1 ranking, and the rest in the second band.

There was praise for the firm’s “formidable” Corporate practice in Wales, which is “distinguished by its public company expertise and work for management teams in private equity transactions.”

The guide also singled out Blake Morgan’s “stellar” Employment team, its Information Technology specialists, described as “leading in the market”, its “market-leading” litigation practice, and its Real Estate team, praised for “notable expertise”.

It describes Blake Morgan as “one of the leading full-service law firms, providing clients with access to a depth of legal skill and experience,” and adds: “Clients have a deep reservoir of goodwill for the firm as a result of its ‘exemplary service’ code of practice, its heritage and the access it provides to expertise, resource and sector specialisms.”

Blake Morgan is also celebrating success for its leading individuals in Wales, with a total of 23 of its lawyers listed in Chambers. Of those 11 achieved the highest Band 1 listing.

Among them is Emyr Lewis, Blake Morgan senior partner for Wales, regarded as a “star performer for public law in Wales”.

He is joined by others including head of the employment team, Joanne Davies, who is described as “an amazing lawyer”; employment Partner Matthew Smith, noted as a “fantastic” and “responsive” lawyer; head of the Corporate team Rob Cherry, praised for his “sound technical skills”; the “extremely able” Intellectual Property specialist Lee FisherAllan Wilson, noted as a “classy litigator”; Real Estate Partner Geoffrey Reed, insolvency specialist Paul Caldicott; and the “vastly experienced” Siân Jones in the firm’s Social Housing team.

Chambers UK: A Client’s Guide to the Legal Profession is compiled from research including interviews with clients and other law firms and is widely respected as the leading legal guide in the UK.
