Volunteers help out Working Wardrobe
A team from Blake Morgan’s Cardiff office put their My Time to excellent use with a volunteering day at Working Wardrobe.
On 25th October, Pauline Prosser, Suzanne Jones, Tracey Cox and Louise Howells rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into helping out with the stock take of thousands of suits donated by Moss Bros. in support of the Working Wardrobe initiative.
Blake Morgan is proud to be a commercial partner of Working Wardrobe, a project being delivered in collaboration between Moxie People, Cardiff Community Housing Association, Newydd Housing Association, Monmouthshire Housing Association, Cardiff and the Vale College and Toward.
The project collects and distributes donations of new and lightly used interview and work attire to job seekers in need of a helping hand from four key hubs in Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Monmouthshire, as “when you’re dressed for success, you feel like you can take on the world,” according to Moxie People.
Working Wardrobe give job seekers from some of our most deprived communities the confidence to take their first step towards a new meaningful career by helping tackle the hidden cost of interview and work wear attire. They will also be equipping jobseekers with the requisite CV writing and interview skills whilst also playing their part in promoting sustainability and the reduction of landfill waste.
Blake Morgan partner Louise Howells commented:
It is great that Blake Morgan actively support all of its partners and staff to participate in volunteering. Pauline, Suzanne, Tracey and I certainly enjoyed the opportunity to help out on the ground with such a big challenge.
We look forward to continuing to support Rachel Rodrigues, Interim Project Manager for Working Wardrobe, who is working with partners to grow the charity and who has been rallying the volunteers at the stock take, Rich Thomas, Sam Cooper-Woolley and the rest of the team at Working Wardrobe and its collaborators – there are sure to be exciting times ahead!
