Main Areas Of Practice

Within our full service competition law offering, our experts advise on:

Competition law and anti-trust law

We advise on commercial agreements and arrangements, including the exchange of information between competitors, for example within trade associations, joint ventures and commercial transactions; pricing; distribution; licensing and supply agreements; compliance programmes; and we provide training, including on dawn raids. We represent complainants and defendants on contentious issues and investigations, including cartels.

Competition litigation

We advise on standalone and follow-on damages claims, and generally on claims involving infringement of competition law. We can handle large-scale litigation and arbitrations, including cross-border cases.

Consumer protection

We have expertise in advising on investigations by consumer protection authorities in the UK and in Europe, including on labelling and packaging and on contractual terms and conditions. We also advise on day-to-day compliance matters.

Market inquiries

We advise on the market and sector inquiries conducted by regulators, including on the risks and opportunities which they may present.

Merger control and foreign investment/national security

We advise on the competition and regulatory aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial transactions and arrangements. We can co-ordinate filings internationally, both for competition and foreign investment/national security controls.

Subsidy control and State aid

We advise on all aspects of subsidy control and State aid, including compliance, investigations, transactions and disputes.

Our Clients

Our specialist competition lawyers advise and represent businesses of all sizes, public and private, and across all industry sectors, based in the UK and internationally. Our clients’ objectives range from obtaining clearances for transactions to breaking down barriers to market entry or expansion, from obtaining compensation for infringements to defending complaints, from receiving training to ensuring compliance.
