Tomorrow's cities
One year on from that report, we struggle to emerge from the pandemic, face a major environmental emergency in climate change and continue to see changes in work and shopping patterns. So it is timely to look once more at how our city centres are evolving and what continues to drive that process.
As project sponsor, Blake Morgan hosted an online seminar on 11 January, in conjunction with the Southern Policy Centre, to explore current thinking on these key places. Our speakers discussed smart cities, urban infrastructure, retail & business, and people and the urban environment. Participants had a chance to discuss what they thought the future may hold and how we can collectively shape that future. The online seminar was a chance to refresh our thinking on city centres and how they can meet today’s challenges.
